Tell ICE to Release People from Detention

Take Action

Tell the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Field Office in Detroit to release people from detention immediately, especially those who are most vulnerable to COVID-19.

Public health experts warn that social distancing is our best tool to stop the spread of COVID-19, but for immigrants locked in crowded jail facilities statewide, there is no social distancing option.

We sued ICE in federal court to protect immigrants, and demand that officials release people in Michigan immediately. Please help us send a message to ICE: Release people from unsafe, overcrowded detention facilities in Michigan, and save lives now.

Message Recipients:
ICE Field Office in Detroit

Immigration detention should not be a death sentence.

Your Message
Dear ICE Detroit District Director Rebecca Adducci,

I urge you to release people from detention facilities in Michigan immediately, especially those who are older or have medical conditions that make them especially vulnerable in the event they contract COVID-19.

Michigan is one of the epicenters for the coronavirus according to the CDC. The lives of everyone in ICE detention facilities, and those of staff and the broader community, are endangered with the threat of COVID-19. Please immediately release people from detention statewide and save lives.

Sincerely,
