Do you believe a Catholic hospital provided you or a loved one inadequate reproductive health care?
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has issued religiously based Directives that prohibit Catholic-sponsored facilities from providing vital reproductive health services and information that patients need in order to make informed decisions about their health care and pregnancy. For example, because of the Directives, our client, Tamesha Means was never told the truth about her miscarriage and was unnecessarily subjected to infection, serious health risks, and severe pain and distress. Unfortunately, we know that Tamesha is not alone. In addition, women like Jessica Mann – a woman with multiple brain tumors for whom future pregnancies would be life-threatening – have been denied routine procedures (tubal ligation) that are necessary to protect their life and health. Women face the risk of mistreatment as a result of the Directives all across the country, as Catholic-sponsored hospitals are expanding and often they are the only available hospital in a region.
If you believe you or a loved one has received mistreatment at a Catholic-sponsored hospital because of the religiously based Directives, we’d like to hear from you. Please fill out the form below and tell us your story. It is important that your voice be heard.
