I Stand for LGBT Equality in Tennessee

For over 25 years, ACLU-TN has focused on a wide range of civil liberty issues that directly affect the LGBT community, including the right to privacy, equal protection and treatment under the law, and the freedom of speech and assembly.

Today, the need to protect these civil liberties is greater than ever. In the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark marriage equality decision, state legislatures introduced hundreds of anti-LGBT measures, including attempts to take away the freedom to marry, strike down non-discrimination ordinances, allow the use of religion to discriminate, prevent transgender people from accessing sex-segregated facilities and more. These measures would not only roll back the clock, they would prevent it from going forward as well.

Stand with us on the right side of history and ensure a legacy of fairness for the generations to come.

Sign our LGBT Equality Pledge to show that the people in Tennessee believe that freedom means freedom for everyone.
I stand for equal rights for LGBT people in Tennessee, including marriage equality, freedom from harassment and bullying in schools, and protection from discrimination in employment, housing, businesses, and public places.

I stand for a Tennessee where all people enjoy freedom from fear, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.

I stand for Tennessee moving forward.
