Tell the Court: Protect Medication Abortion Now

The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to hear another abortion case that could have extreme consequences on people’s ability to make personal medical decisions in all 50 states. If the Supreme Court sides with anti-abortion groups, it would impose severe, medically unnecessary restrictions on mifepristone, a medication that is used for most abortions in this country today.

We can’t wait while the anti-abortion movement attacks our fundamental rights. Take action now by adding your name to our petition.

For more than 20 years, mifepristone has offered an exceedingly safe, effective, FDA-approved means of ending a pregnancy – with study after study confirming its critical role in abortion and miscarriage care.

Anti-abortion groups and politicians are trying to ban abortion nationwide – and their fight to overturn Roe and take away access to medication abortion care is just the beginning. They are trying to create a world in which our reproductive rights, including access to birth control, are completely stripped away and where politicians and right-wing zealots control the most intimate and important aspects of our lives.

If anti-abortion public officials think they can steamroll medical ethics and jeopardize patients' health and safety with ideological extremism like this – they should think again. We at the ACLU are using every tool at our disposal right now to ensure everyone can access the safe and essential reproductive health care they need.

That’s why we’re calling on the Supreme Court NOW to reject this extreme case brought by anti-abortion groups: Please join us in this fight by adding your name to our petition now.

We all deserve the power to make the best personal medical decisions for ourselves and our family, but anti-abortion groups are trying to take away the power to control our own bodies. Mifepristone – approved 23 years ago and used by millions of people for medication abortion – has been proven safe and effective by over 100 studies. Anti-abortion politicians are attempting to use the courts to ban abortion nationwide, even in states that have legal protections for abortion access. This is why I'm joining the ACLU and people across the country in urging the Supreme Court to follow the law and the science and reverse this harmful decision that would make it impossible for some people to get abortion care.
