Repeal Trump's Anti-Immigrant Bans
Two years of the Trump presidency have wreaked havoc on the lives of millions of people and their loved ones, both inside and outside the country.
Now is our chance to put an end to President Trump's Muslim, refugee, and asylum bans. Congress has just introduced the NO BAN Act, which would not only repeal these bans, but would help prevent the government from enacting discriminatory bans in the future.
One of Trump's first acts in office was to fulfill his campaign promise to ban Muslims from entering the United States. He did this by issuing an executive order banning the entry of nationals of certain Muslim-majority countries. In response, people around the country and members of Congress flooded airports in outrage, awaiting the release of those detained.
Trump responded to subsequent legal challenges by trying to dilute the original ban, adding countries that are not Muslim-majority or splitting off the refugee ban in a separate order. Despite these efforts, Trump couldn't hide his true agenda: to exclude large numbers of Muslims from coming to the United States.
Over two years later, we live in a country with a Muslim ban. Trump has been emboldened and has attempted to institute a ban on certain asylum-seekers as well.
These bans have torn apart the fabric of our communities. They've crushed the dreams of families who are separated, people seeking life-saving health care treatment, and those pursuing educational and career opportunities. They put people's lives in danger. And they don't reflect the kind of country we want to be.
Now is the time to raise our voices and make clear that we will not allow the Muslim, refugee, and asylum bans in our America. Add your name demanding that Congress pass the NO BAN Act.
