The Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade to take away our federal constitutional right to abortion is an awful attack on women’s rights and reproductive freedom. While we are not surprised by this decision, it does mean we have to work harder than ever to ensure abortion access is a reality for all New Mexicans. Every person deserves the dignity and respect to decide what is best for themselves and their families.

Make no mistake about it, anti-abortion lawmakers will not stop with overturning Roe and banning abortion in half the states. They are already drawing up plans to ban abortion across the nation.
