To Ben Blunt, Vice President, Concord Coach Lines:
As you know, a recent memo from Customs and Border Protection confirms that bus companies "do not have to allow Border Patrol agents on board to conduct routine checks for immigrants[.]"
Your customers should be able to take the bus without fear of racial profiling and harassment. You have the ability to protect their rights.
Other bus companies are doing the right thing – making it clear that they will not allow Border Patrol agents to board their buses and question their passengers without a warrant. Now you have a chance to do the right thing too.
Please take immediate action to revise your policies and protect your customers. Stop allowing Border Patrol agents on your buses without a warrant.
