Mississippi is home to Protestants, Catholics, Jews, Mormons, Hindus, Buddhists, Agnostics, Atheists, and Muslims alike. What we all have in common is that we love our state and want to work to make it better than ever.
Mississippi is the Hospitality State, and our commitment to welcoming guests and residents alike should extend to those who live differently, think differently, and pray differently. But some national and Mississippi lawmakers are targeting our Muslim friends and neighbors with Islamophobic rhetoric and intimidation.
As Trump continues to sign unconstitutional executive orders, the diversity of our nation and what truly makes America great, is under attack. We are all Mississippians — women, LGBT, immigrants, refugees, disabled, and all of every race and creed. Tell Governor Bryant that you will stand up for true religious freedom and that you pledge to protect all members of our state from hateful discrimination.
