It's more important than ever to safeguard our elections. Over the last few years, our elected leaders have passed several new laws under the guise of "restoring faith in our elections."

What these laws have really done, however, is create uncertainty and significant logistical challenges for voters across the state – and we've heard all about it. As voters prepare for the general election, our office has been inundated with calls and emails from people facing multiple issues surrounding voter registration, absentee ballot access, confusion about voter qualification challenges, and more.

This means there is a significant likelihood that many South Dakota voters will be disenfranchised and will lose their ability to cast a ballot in the general election.
