Right now, a bill that would allow the banning of books, art, films and videos, visual media like drawings and photographs, live performances, dances, guest speakers, and other material in our public schools is on its way to Governor Ayotte's desk.

The bill, SB 434, would restrict free speech, create a chilling effect for educators across NH, and make it easier for one parent to ban books, art, and materials in classrooms and school libraries across the Granite State.

The right to free expression includes the freedom to read whatever we choose. Yet our state government is attempting to make it easier to ban books right here in New Hampshire

Just last year, Governor Ayotte vetoed a similar book ban bill and this time should be no different.

There's no time to wait: tell Governor Ayotte to veto SB 434 when it reaches her desk soon!
