According to a December report from The Washington Post, ICE may be planning on using a warehouse located in Merrimack, New Hampshire to detain and warehouse hundreds of immigrants.

Though ICE has not confirmed it, the proposed facility, purportedly owned by the Trammell Crow Company, is located at 50 Robert Milligan Parkway in Merrimack and appeared in a list of warehouses that ICE is considering for detention centers, according to a report from the Boston Globe.

We are deeply concerned of what a facility intended to aid in the Trump administration's mass deportation agenda, whether in Merrimack or anywhere across New Hampshire, would do to our immigrant communities but people across the Granite State.

As your constituent, I'm writing to urge you to stop a warehouse located at 50 Robert Milligan Parkway in Merrimack, which was developed by the Trammell Crow Company and Diamond Realty Investments as a “warehouse/distribution facility,” from being used by ICE to detain hundreds of immigrants.

I am outraged that immigrant communities across the country continue to be targeted by ICE, as well as state and local police that have entered into 287(g) agreements, to aid the Trump administration’s deportation machine. 
 
Historically, immigration detention centers across the country have been plagued by inhumane conditions and civil rights violations, and it is unbelievable to me that we would stand by and allow these horrors to continue at all, let alone encourage them in our own state.

I am deeply concerned about the tactics that ICE could deploy to detain people across NH, as well as how the cooperation from state and local police would sow distrust between communities and law enforcement throughout the Granite State. 
 
Immigrants in NH deserve to be treated with dignity, not cruelty. They are part of the fabric of our country, including our communities. These are our neighbors being ripped out of their homes and workplaces. They should not be detained and warehoused indefinitely in Merrimack (or anywhere else) just to serve the Trump administration’s hateful political agenda.

I am thankful that our NH U.S. House representatives recently voted against a measure to fund ICE and DHS and I want all of our federal delegation to continue to work to prevent the immeasurable harm that ICE has caused to our communities.

This unspeakable cruelty is not what Granite Staters like me stand for, and I know it is not what you stand for, so I am urging you to please work on the federal level to ensure this plan does not come to fruition.
