Request Legal Observers at Your Event

Protest has been a tried-and-true way to create change for centuries – and these days, more and more people are making their voices heard by marching in the streets. The right to join with fellow citizens in protest or peaceful assembly, after all, is critical to a functioning democracy.

As part of the ACLU of Wyoming's mission to uphold the First Amendment, we've trained Wyomingites to serve as volunteer legal observers. Our legal observers protect protesters, hold law enforcement accountable, and defend our free society. They serve as neutral observers who document incidents, arrests, and official misconduct, while maintaining a safe distance.

Are you interested in having members of our volunteer legal observation team at your event? Fill out the following questions, and we will get back to you.

Thank you for your interest!

Note: We are limited in our staff capacity at times and cannot respond affirmatively to all requests. If the ACLU of Wyoming agrees to send legal observers to your event, the ACLU of Wyoming will not promote or endorse your event or otherwise participate in it in any capacity beyond legal observation. In addition, ACLU of Wyoming legal observers will wear distinctive clothing clearly designating them as such.
