Portraits in Protest: Share Your Story

Over the first year of President Trump's second term, our communities were under attack.

Yet in the face of cruelty, the people came together like never before. Millions took to the streets across the country in protest. Our supporters flooded the inboxes of their elected officials demanding change. Artists, athletes, politicians, community leaders, family members, neighbors, and everyday people all showed us what it means to protect our neighbors and defend our rights.

We're celebrating those who have defined the year through courage and activism, who give us all hope, and who inspire us to do more. We want to hear from you and share these inspiring stories. Whose activism has inspired you over the last year?

Tell Us Your Story

In the face of countless attacks on our communities, we've seen a groundswell of resilience and courage from our neighbors, loved ones, and advocates across the country. We want to know whose activism is inspiring you in your community. Share your own portrait of protest – whose advocacy has made a difference to you over the past year? Here are a few prompts to help you share your story:

  • Following a year of historic protests, share a note about someone you went to a protest to. How has their activism encouraged your own?
  • While federal attacks have been escalating, some of the most impactful policy changes come from the state and local level. Share a story about a local advocate who took action to make a difference in your area.
  • Our community keeps us safe. How have your neighbors shown up to protect and fight for each other in the past year?
