I am writing to make sure you saw recent reporting that ICE is using gaps in our privacy laws to track our phones without warrants. (For more info, search "ICE Can Now Spy on Every Phone in Your Neighborhood"). This practice threatens all of us: immigrants, protesters, critics of the Trump administration, and every MA resident. I am very concerned and hope you are, too.

Unlike many of ICE's abuses, this is one you can fix in state law. I'm asking that you please advocate strongly for passage of the Massachusetts Consumer Data Privacy Act (H.4746), which would give all Massachusetts residents robust privacy rights in the digital age. Specifically, this bill would ban the sale of our precise geolocation data and create statutory limits on data collection and processing, ending Big Tech's abuse of and profiteering from our personal information.
