Happy holidays! ‘Tis the season for a good book – giving a favorite book as a gift, curling up with a book from the library to relax or discover a new world – and protecting the right to read.

I am writing to you in support of An Act Regarding Free Expression (H.3594), which was favorably reported by the Joint Committee on Tourism, Arts and Cultural Development and referred to House Ways and Means. The Senate passed a version of this legislation in November.

With this bill, the legislature has an opportunity to ensure that all Massachusetts students can learn in an inclusive environment – free from censorship.
