The message:
Urgent: Governor Reeves has sent 200 MS National Guard members to Washington D.C. as part of the Trump administration's federal takeover of our nation's capital. This is a manufactured emergency! President Trump is engaging in dangerous political theater to expand his power and sow fear in our communities.
Governors must not submit to the president's abuse of emergency power and arbitrary military exercise. National Guard troops should be reserved for genuine emergencies, not armed and deployed to a city hundreds of miles away to suit the president's political whims.
The ACLU of Mississippi condemns this decision and invites you to join us in demanding that Governor Reeves bring our MS National Guard troops home.
