Tell Lawmakers: Support immigrant and refugee families!
Act Now

Immigrants and refugees are facing more challenges in Oregon than ever. Between struggling to afford the basic necessities, worrying about the federal government, and a climate of fear and misinformation, these families who have already faced so many challenges urgently need our support.
For years, grassroots and community based organizations received newly arrived immigrant Oregonians without any coordination or infrastructure, causing new Oregonian families to struggle to find resources and meet their most basic needs when they arrive in our state. Fortunately, by supporting newly arrived Oregonian families with additional case management and stabilization services, our state has alleviated pressure on the mainstream housing and emergency shelter system in Oregon.
Oregon State Senate Bill 149 (SB 149), “Oregon’s New Neighbors Coordinated Access Act”, funds this proven successful collaboration among groups working with a number of new Oregonian communities. It ensures these programs have the support they need to create long-term success for immigrants and refugees in Oregon by strengthening the collaboration between refugee resettlement agencies and community-based organizations that are working with Oregon’s newest neighbors.

In a time of great uncertainty for this community, SB 149 will mean that a new generation of Oregonians feels safer and welcomed in our beautiful state.
