Maine lawmakers are considering several bills affecting abortion access and other reproductive health care. Abortion remains legal in Maine, but our state is vulnerable to the everchanging winds of politics in the absence of federal protections.
While we expect to defeat anti-abortion bills, we need your help to get bills that would expand reproductive health care over the finish line:
- LD 163 would expand insurance coverage for contraceptives.
- LD 143 would increase funding for family planning services.
- LD 538 would strengthen privacy protections for health care providers who prescribe medication abortion drugs and face threats from anti-abortion prosecutors in other states.
