Share your story: How Trump's Immigration Policies Impact You

Immigrants Are Welcome Here

Immigration policies, particularly those shaped by the Trump administration, have had a lasting impact on families, communities, and individuals. Many people are feeling uncertain about what the future might bring, especially when it comes to policies that could affect families, workplaces, and the overall security of immigrant communities. We want to hear from those whose lives have been impacted by these policies, sharing how they have shaped your daily experiences, your sense of security, and the well-being of your family.

By collecting these stories, we hope to raise awareness, challenge harmful narratives, and uplift the voices of immigrant voices. We understand that sharing personal experiences can be sensitive, and we want to create a safe space for you to share your story. You do not need to provide specific or detailed personal information—just a general overview of how these policies may touch you or your community. If we’d like to learn more, we may follow up with you for additional details

We want to hear from a variety of people, including:

  • Immigrant families who are concerned about the impact of policies, including the threat of mass deportations and other enforcement measures.
  • Community members such as teachers, parents, neighbors, and others who are seeing the impact of these policies on families, schools, and local communities.
  • Advocates and activists who work to support immigrant communities and challenge harmful immigration policies.
  • Business owners who are worried about the effects of these policies on their employees.
  • Service providers such as healthcare workers, caseworkers, and others who are supporting people impacted by these policies.

NOTE: If you are under 13, we do NOT want your personal information, and you must not provide it to us.

Disclaimer: Even if your story is published anonymously or under a pseudonym, the ACLU cannot guarantee that your identity and other personal information about you or others will remain protected, particularly if a subpoena is issued by a government agency seeking disclosure of that information.

Disclaimer: If you have an attorney for a pending immigration case, you should review your story with them and have them explain any potential risks of sharing it publicly before submitting.

If you are undocumented, or are telling a story about someone who is undocumented, prior to submitting your story you must consult an immigration attorney and have them explain the potential risks of submitting it as well as the risks of sharing it publicly. If you do not have an immigration attorney, please contact our Director of Storytelling (krizvi@aclu.org) and we will provide you with an attorney who can give you that advice.
