Lisa Cristina Peña, CPM, LM
A native New Mexican and an independent mother of two young adults that were born in New Orleans, LA in 2000 and 2003, respectively, and the place where she discovered her calling to birthwork, maternal and infant/child health and wellbeing, and women’s health issues. Rearing children and eventually completing coursework towards certifications as a childbirth educator and birth doula, university studies and degrees in Public Health, Community Health, and U.S.-Mexico Border Health Issues, and eventually leading her to pursue her passion to become a Partera.
With many certifications under her belt, and experience as a licensed midwife, community health worker, a yoga instructor, case management, birth and death doula, Reiki healing, and a recent undertaking of the study of herbal medicine and curanderismo, and prerequisites coursework towards a BSN degree, Lisa hopes to bridge all of her tools, gifts, knowledge, and experience to bring education, access, and reproductive justice and support from preconception, birth, breastfeeding, postpartum to peri/postmenopause and death, in an ethical and culturally competent manner.
