Henry Schwarzschild Memorial Lecture 2020 - RSVP

Qualified Immunity: An Obstacle to Justice

On October 29, 2020, join the Hudson Valley Chapter of the NYCLU for the Henry Schwarzschild Memorial Lecture.

During recent months we have seen an uprising in this country, a call to action for those who believe that the police should be held accountable. The NYCLU and ACLU have been in this fight for decades and we continue to push for police accountability and to transform policing as it now exists. To further our work on accountability we are presenting a panel on qualified immunity for the annual Henry Schwarzschild Memorial Lecture.

Our speakers this year are civil rights attorney William Wagstaff, Touro Law Professor Martin Schwartz, community advocate Kenneth Chamberlain Jr. and NYCLU Lead Policy Counsel Michael Sisitzky. The panel will be moderated by civil rights attorney and NYCLU Board Member Mayo Bartlett.

The event will be held via Zoom and it is free and open to the public.

We invite you to join our Host Committee for this year’s lecture with a donation of $100 or more. Members of the Host Committee will be acknowledged during this year’s event. Thank you for your support.
