Issue 1 will reduce Ohio’s overcrowded prisons and reinvest the money saved into communities. Specifically, Issue 1 will mandate four key changes:
- Reclassify certain fourth and fifth degree drug possessions from felonies to misdemeanors;
- Require a series of responses for probation violations such as missing a meeting with a probation officer;
- Reward rehabilitation by allowing individuals in prison to earn credits to reduce their sentence by 25%; and
- Reinvest money saved from decarcerating prisons into drug treatment and recovery programs.

Saturday, October 20 - CLEVELAND — noon - 3 p.m.
Phone banking high priority precincts in Cuyahoga County. We will devote 30 minutes to practice the script, review best practices, and finish with an Issue 1 overview. Everyone will be given a list of 40+ voters. Please bring your cell phones.

Saturday, October 27 - CLEVELAND — noon - 4 p.m.
Door-to-door canvassing is the gold standard of voter mobilization. We'll pull canvass lists from high priority precincts in the Cleveland Heights/ Shaker area. We will launch from the Cleveland office following a canvassing role play activity, Issue 1 review, and a short training on the MiniVAN canvassing app.

Saturday, November 3 - COLUMBUS — noon - 3 p.m.
Attend a Phone Banking session to contact high priority precincts in Cuyahoga County. We will devote 30 minutes to practice the script, review best practices, and finish with an Issue 1 overview. Everyone will be given a list of 40+ voters. Please bring your cellphones!
