Submit a Legal Complaint To The ACLU of New Mexico
Only submit if you are a resident of New Mexico
There are many cases and problems of unfairness and injustice, and the ACLU is simply unable to handle all of them. We receive hundreds of requests for assistance each month, but due to our lack of resources, we can only take on a small percentage of complaints that we receive. For more information about our guidelines for case selection and the types of cases that the ACLU generally considers, please visit: https://www.aclu-nm.org/en/resources/get-legal-help
The ACLU of New Mexico is unable to respond to all requests for assistance.
We receive an extremely high volume of requests for assistance. Please note that we are unable to respond to all requests. All submissions to our online intake form will be reviewed and tracked. However, due to limited capacity, we are unable to respond to all inquiries. You should not expect to receive a response. However, if we think we may be able to assist with your case or need to request additional information, we will reach out. Please do not wait on a response from the ACLU of New Mexico before exploring other assistance, especially if there are deadlines that may apply in your case.
*An important note about deadlines
All legal claims have time deadlines. The deadlines may be different depending on who violated your rights and depending on what rights were violated. For some kinds of violations, you may need to file a claim with a government agency before you can sue, and these agencies usually have their own time deadlines.
Please understand that unless and until the ACLU agrees to take your case, you are solely responsible for any and all statutes of limitations or other deadlines that might apply to your specific situation.
If you have concerns about a statute of limitations or if you feel your case demands immediate attention, you may wish to seek advice from another attorney.
