What Matters to You?

Letter to the Editor

Want to be featured in the most popular section of your local newspaper? You can, simply by sending a letter to the editor on a national issue that matters not only to you, but to the future of our country.

We're asking members of our online community to take the lead and get the word out. Remind your neighbors and local leaders that Congress needs to take action by restoring habeas corpus and due process, ending torture in secret prisons, stopping rampant spying on innocent Americans and fixing the Patriot Act to bring it in line with the Constitution.

To get started, pick the topic that matters most to you:

The Military Commissions Act of 2006, Suspension of Habeas Corpus

Torture and Abuse, Guantánamo and Secret Prisons

Illegal Spying on Americans by the NSA

The PATRIOT Act: Domestic Spying and the "Surveillance Society"

(NOTE: You can always return to this page to write a letter on another topic when you're finished)

With a letter to your local paper, you can help bring your message not only to your neighbors, but directly to the offices of your Members of Congress, where staffers and our lawmakers themselves follow opinions from home with an especially watchful eye.
