Elvia Meza from the ACLU of Southern California, came to the conference to lobby on Capitol Hill about immigrants rights. Jeremy Gunn, ACLU's Program on Freedom of Religion and Belief director, responds to the idea of "government- sponsored religion." After learning that the Pentagon maintained a secret database on Kot Hordynski's peaceful protest group, the ACLU filed a lawsuit.

Jeff Rank, while at a reception for ACLU clients, talks about the repercussions of critizing President Bush. Retired ambassador Joseph Wilson talks about his recent experience in relying on the First Amendment. Carol Mehlman, ACLU of Tampa Florida, came to the conference to re-energize her work with civil liberties.
